Welcome to the Five Bells

Re-opening

We are pleased to announce that we will be up and running again as of 10.30am on Saturday 4th July.

We have reduced the seating areas inside the Pub, but have increased our capacity outside, where there is one bookable table. This will seat up to 6 people, unfortunately because of our lovely unpredictable British weather the other outside tables cannot be booked.

Please bear with us in this difficult time as we adjust to all the new measures put in place to keep you and our staff as safe as possible. If your meals take a little longer than normal please be patient with us.

We would like to advise all our customer to wear face coverings, on entering or moving around the pub but these can be removed as soon as you are seated.

Hand sanitisers have been placed in inside and outside areas.

Please don’t ask us to bend the rules as they are put in place to protect everyone!!

We will continue with our takeaway service and would like to thank everyone for the support and lovely messages we have received throughout lockdown, it is very much appreciated!!! Thank you

Five Bells

The Five Bells is a welcoming charmingly unique Country Pub, run by Adrian and Di Govier, serving good traditional English food, locally sourced where possible.

Parts of the pub date back to the late 18th century. A Well which was uncovered by Jenny, Adrian’s late wife, is about 18 feet deep the water level is often as high as 12 feet stands in the area between the lounge and the restaurant. Oak beams are adorned with hops, which Adrian and Di fetch each year from Kent along with some lovely Kent wines. Open fires make this a really cosy pub for cold winter evenings. During the summer months you can dine in our restaurant where we have installed air conditioning for your comfort.

Dogs and well behaved children are more than welcome.
